Women's Missionary Union (WMU)

As we see it...

Missions are important and should be the heartbeat of all believers. Missions began in the heart of God and continued in the mission of His Son Jesus Christ. Women's Missionary Union challenges Christian believers to understand and be radically involved in the mission of God. Focus on WMU Week is an opportunity to help us show how WMU leads church members, whether they participate in an organization or not, to a greater understanding of God's call.

Please consider this an invitation to meet with any of our WMU groups. More information on WMU including a complete listing of our groups is located at the Welcome Center.

Our Mission Action - 2007-2008 included:

*Prepared/delivered gift bags for Random Acts of Kindness Ministry

*Fixed lunches for Michigan State Students who built 2 Habitat homes.

*Furnished 162 white washcloths to Red Cross

*Donated money to the El Salvador Mission Trip

*Donated money and candy for the DMBC Fun Fest

*Filled backpacks and distributed to area school children

*Gave over $300 to TN Children's Home by making and selling crafts

*Donated items to the "Joshua Resource Center"

*Donated Christmas gifts to the Baptist Center for children

*Sent Birthday cards and sunshine baskets to shut-ins, those hospitalized, etc.

*Filled baby bottles with money for the Pregnancy Resource Center

*Donated canned goods/groceries/cleaning supplies/pajamas and diapers to the Baptist Center

*Sent shoe boxes filled with gifts for children in other countries

*Helped with Body and Soul Easter Celebration at the Baptist Center

*Recycled church literature

*Prepared and served food to those who were ill

*Prepared and served food for several members that had lost an immediate family member

*Visited shut-ins

*Worked at Baptist center

*Delivered Christmas poisettias to shut-ins
