Hearing Impaired Ministry
to Dotson Memorial Baptist Church...a family of GodWe gladly provide a skilled interpreter for the hearing impaired in our 10:30 Worship Service on Sunday mornings. Our purpose is to proclaim Jesus and His love for everyone. Doing what Jesus commanded...When Jesus commanded us to make disciples of all peoples, the command included the deaf and hearing impaired. To not do so would be to disobey God’s Word. One of Jesus’ special miracles was the healing of a man who could neither hear nor speak. We do not have the power of God like Jesus did to correct people’s physical deficiencies and limitations. However, we do have the empowerment of the Holy Spirit to minister especially to the spiritual needs of the deaf and hearing impaired. Our goal is to continually fulfill Isaiah 29:18a: “And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book…” We want the deaf to meet Jesus, Who can meet their every need. Did You Know?Recent surveys project approximately 22 million deaf and hard of hearing people in the U.S. Of this number, only 2% reported to being Christians. Fifteen (15) of every 1000 people under age 18 have some type of hearing impairment; 415 of every 1000 people over the age of 75 have some type of hearing impairment (Vital & Health Statistics, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, 1994). We gladly provide a skilled interpreter for the hearing impaired in our Sunday Morning Worship Service at 10:30 a.m. Our purpose is to proclaim Jesus and His love for everyone. We are truly thankful to be able to offer this ministry to our community. It is such a blessing to see someone who is either deaf or hearing impaired connect with God’s Word in a meaningful way, and we are blessed because of it. Our Ministry goalsTo accomplish our purpose, the ministry has established the following goals:
If you know anyone who is deaf or hearing impaired, please tell them about our ministry and let us know so we can contact them.
